                                     Our Food Donors:
We couldn't do it without them!

The partnership that Table to Table has with our food donors is what allows the entire system to work. Their generosity and commitment to keeping wholesome food from going to waste is what allows our food rescue program to exist. Whether it is a grocery store, dairy, food warehouse, school or restaurant, they take that extra step of setting the food aside for our volunteers to collect.

Last year, we rescued over 899,028 pounds of bread, bakery items, produce, dairy and prepared foods.  Every pound and one half of rescued food is considered an equivalent meal, so this works out to be 559,352 equivalent meals Table to Table was able to distribute through our recipient agencies.

Why does New Pioneer Co-op contribute to Table to Table?

Volunteers make a pick-up at New Pioneer Co-op.

"Community-owned food store New Pioneer Co-op regularly donates a variety of products to Table to Table. The Co-op confirmed a long-standing tradition of donating to programs that help feed the hungry when they participated in founding Table to Table in 1996."

Theresa Carbrey
New Pioneer Co-op Education and Member Services Coordinator

The Emerson Good Samaritan Act of 1996

It states that donors of apparently wholesome food or grocery products cannot be sued over damages resulting from said food, except in the case of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
